We are predicting an increase in demand for help with water bills as a result of the cost of living crisis. So, we are introducing new ways to support customers further.
- We are making changes to our Assist scheme by:
- making it easier for customers to apply
- providing help at the first point of contact
- giving customers longer to seek debt advice.
- We have been exploring other ways of increasing uptake on our tariffs, as well as removing customer effort by sharing data. The current initiatives we are working on are:
- Data matching with the DWP. Focussed on Discount for Low-income Pensioners and WaterSure Plus renewals
- Data sharing with interested local councils
- We are injecting extra funding into the debt advice sector across our region.
